In the latter case, you can use the Macrorit Disk Scanner to check your hard disks for any read/write errors caused due to physical damage. On a much severe scale, the problem could also be with the motherboard or the hard disk itself. When such things happen that most common reason is the faulty data cables, accumulation of dust inside the PC or the worn out power supply (SMPS) that is not able to supply enough power to the attached components. Recently my five years old hard disk started to halt intermittently and was causing so many problems when I tried to copy files from this disk to a portable USB disk.

It contains the game design knowledge of the whole series, from the awkward shuffling tension of the first game through to the engrossing (and often just gross), first-person horror of Resident Evil 7. Honestly, the subliminal environmental signposts in this game are some of the best I’ve ever encountered – this is an experience that somehow feels tight and controlled yet also at times unscripted and emergent. Later come more opulent settings, gothic buildings, the walls lined with Renaissance paintings, the dining tables impeccably laid, each room housing a neat puzzle or a fresh enemy monster.Īt times there are slightly open, hub-like areas where you’re given a teeny bit of freedom to explore, but the leash is always tight and you are never bored or lost. The canyon area is a vast maze of wooden walkways, the wood weak and old enough to give way at any moment dropping you into the maw of another desperate standoff. You explore a farm where emaciated animals wander about then drop dead from hunger, and where every shack has some snarling villager waiting to stab you through the side. Photograph: CapcomĮvery location is a rotting smörgåsbord of gelatinous horror. Traipsing through the muck … Leon Kennedy in Resident Evil 4 Remake. I love the way the major boss battles are foreshadowed, and how the world teaches you how to look for important rooms or crucial loot hoards. The locations where big fights take place are expertly designed, always featuring places to run to and catch your breath for a second, so you learn to read the spaces as well as enemy attack patterns. It’s the perfect melding of old and new Resi, of reminiscence and raw challenge. As you go, you collect cash to buy new weapons from the famed Merchant character (who has some real treasures in his collection), but it’s still a horror experience: there are jump scares there are tense moments where the camera occludes hidden enemies lurking in the darkness. The combat is expressive, tactical and tough, utilising a stripped down melee system that allows for crucial ammo hoarding, while still making your character feel powerful. We’re there in his boots as he blasts at enemies wielding pitchforks and chainsaws. The new Resi 4 brings the camera out a little further again, but we’re still very much with Kennedy as he traipses through the muck of festering farmlands and down the corridors of gothic castles. Gone too were the zombies, in favour of torch-wielding yokels and towering cult leaders, giving it the uncanny feel of folkloric horror, of The Wicker Man and Witchfinder General. Designer Shinji Mikami switched to an over-shoulder view, drawing the player into the protagonist’s perspective and making the shootouts much more immersive. Gone were the awkward expressionist camera angles and roving third-person perspective gone too was the peculiarly staccato and unintuitive combat of the first three titles. Veterans won’t need to be told that Resi 4 represented a new phase in the series when it arrived on the Nintendo GameCube in 2005. A complete reimagining … Resident Evil 4 Remake. AVG Cleaner – Junk Cleaner, Memory & RAM Booster I won't have this alto forever, so I figured I'd make a few covers using it. not a mouthpiece I would normally use at all on tenor or bari), and Vandoren 2 reeds. It's a Selmer Reference 54, and it's a super nice horn! I'm using a Selmer C* mouthpiece (which, oddly enough, sounds pretty nice on this horn. Pretty happy with how this came out for having so much trouble dealing with the source material!Ī few things to note about the actual recording of this video: first off, I'm playing alto! I'm currently borrowing this alto saxophone from a friend of mine who plays in a Berklee wind ensemble that I am participating in. I made some conscious choices to vary the accompaniment behind each solo so the solos didn't all sound the same! I went with a typical fast swing behind the alto solo, starting off with half time swing in the bari solo (then speeding up later), and going for a more spacey McCoy Tyner + Coltrane-esque tenor solo background section. 9 minute arrangements aren't super common for typical uploads, but I think the variety in this one keeps it from not getting too boring. In the end, I settled on turning the tune into an AABA form, where each A is a minor blues featuring the first statement of the melody from the original recording, and the B section is actually a bebop interpretation of that awesome bari solo at the beginning of the tune! From there, I went through the standard "jam session arrangement" of head, solos, trading, and head out, giving the alto, bari, and tenor all full chorus-long solos, which really pushed the length of this arrangement. I was a bit torn on how much of the source material to include in this version in a way that didn't sound like endlessly playing random solo licks, while also retaining enough spontaneity. I envisioned it with more of a double time feel, switching between an afro-cuban pattern and swing pattern in the rhythm section, which I think works super well! One of the challenges that I faced with this arrangement was how to make sense of the original song, since there's a lot of improvisatory bits, and not really one strong melody that goes throughout the composition. The original version of this theme has a more funky backbeat style to it, which I think suits hearing it in the context of a fighting game. Any game that's crazy enough to create a character whose attacks are all based on musical instruments and is straight up named "Big Band" is definitely a game worth checking out! I really love Big Band's design, especially since it strikes my particular interest in jazz music super well, so I thought it'd be more than appropriate to go full-on bebop jazz with this theme! One of these tracks is this one - Unfinished Business from Skullgirls! Now, full disclosure, I haven't actually played Skullgirls, but I did a fair bit of research on the game and watched quite a bit of footage from the game to really understand the context that this music is heard in. Becaues of all that, I decided to take a bit of a break from the Sinnoh stuff, and cover some other tracks that you guys suggested I give some love to! Hey look, it's a non-Sinnoh cover from insaneintherain during the Year of Sinnoh! Long story short, I was feeling a bit of burnout from focusing just on the Diamond and Pearl stuff, and I felt like I wasn't doing enough service to the viewers, especially viewers who may not be quite as familiar or appreciative of the music of Sinnoh as I am. "You will be prosecuted to the full extent of the jam!" Insaneintherainmusic's jazz cover / remix of Unfinished Business (Under the Bridge / Big Band's theme) from "Skullgirls Encore", composed by Michiru Yamane (山根ミチル). Skullgirls Encore: Unfinished Business (Under the Bridge) Jazz Arrangement Regarding the next few covers, I think I'll be releasing some covers that have been highly requested by folks for a while, maybe a month or so, so 2 or 3 videos, and then probably get back to some Sinnoh stuff soon! I'm currently typing this on Tuesday of this week, since PAX is going on right now! By the time you're reading this, I will have finished my performance on the Main Stage at PAX, and be preparing for my shows at Berklee on Sunday! It's been crazy to prepare for all these performances, but I'm looking forward to the performances themselves, and ALSO for these performances to be over, lol! There's a long writeup about this video in the description! Gotta say, it felt to get back to making covers that aren't from Sinnoh, haha! I've wanted to do something from Skullgirls for quite a while now, and after seeing a few requests for it on my request form, I thought I'd give this one a shot! I went the extra mile and used a costume for this one too, haha. "Optimal Performance" is the prefered/recommended option (and why is set by default) for graphics intensive games, which as of today includes DCS World. Power Management Mode: I'd recommend against "Maximum Performance", especially if with a very hot power hungry Nvidia GPU model (1080Ti, 2080Ti, 3080/Ti/3090, etc). Just a heads up regarding some of those settings. here are screen shots in case it helps anyone. i went through my specific DCS settings and made the changes to match what i could. i went through settings video, and even some shown were different. It takes a bit of trial and error to find the right setting that doesn’t cause your laptop to freeze or crash, but the benefits are well worth the effort. This is a handy technique for notebook owners who want to undervolt their GPU, reducing its heat and power consumption. While mobile GPUs have become very efficient in the last two years, every little bit counts.įinally, for those who don’t mind getting their hands dirty, it’s possible to change the power curve of modern NVIDIA GPUs using MSI Afterburner. If you’re on a notebook, you’ll definitely want to make sure “Optimal power”, or at least “Adaptive” is selected in the global settings. You can then use “Prefer maximum performance” for only those titles. For demanding games that don’t play well with Optimal Power or Adaptive, find (or create) the required profile in the “Program Settings” tab of the “Manage 3D settings” page. The NVIDIA Control Panel allows you to configure profiles for games on a case-by-case basis. Unfortunately, this will increase the “idle” heat and power draw of your GPU, even when you’re not doing anything. Now, it’s tempting to hit up the driver’s global settings and set the power management mode to the aforementioned value and never think about it again. As the name suggests, this setting will run your card at its maximum clocks all the time. Newer NVIDIA cards feature several more options, such as “NVIDIA driver-controlled” and “Prefer consistent performance”, but the only other choice you need to worry about is “Prefer maximum performance”. However, Optimal Power adds another feature - it’ll stop the GPU rendering a new frame if nothing has changed on screen and instead reuse what’s already in the framebuffer. Both options will modulate the core and memory clock speeds and voltage of your GPU, increasing them during times of load and decreasing them when demand is low. Optimal power superseded the previous default, called “Adaptive”. This setting was introduced into the company’s video drivers with the GTX 1080, specifically version 368.22 release in May 2016. By default, NVIDIA sets the power management mode of your GPU (be it in card or laptop form) to “Optimal power”. And then of course, you're going to need to fix up that edit. These sorts of things happen all the time in interviews and it always helps to find those, trim them out, and compress time. And what three dots means is, it's either a pause where there's silence, or you said something that's not quite a word. It's going to be represented as three dots. They're represented by three little dots-just delete 'em and it'll do a ripple delete. "We can detect pauses and filler words, and you can just click on those. "So, a lot of times I'll be working with either a new actor or somebody who's not used to being on camera," Franklin said, "and you get a lot of ums. And you've performed that edit using the text entirely." Locating Pauses and Umms and Trimming them with Multicam Edits You just cut the text, move the playhead somewhere else in the transcript, hit Paste, and it rearranges the clips on the timeline. And you can do things like cut, or copy and paste. And then once you have those sound bites in your sequence shift over to the sequence, the transcript will continue to inspect the sequence. The comma key for doing an insert edit works the same in text-based editing. What's more, he continues, "we use common keyboard shortcuts that you probably already know. But once you have that transcript, you can use that text to navigate search for words like you were explaining, get that sound bite, and then edit it into your sequence." So if you bring in a lot of clips into your project, we'll cue them up and it doesn't interrupt your editing. We support 17 languages, and that transcription can happen on-device. You can bring in clips and we're going to automatically transcribe them. "I saw that in a press preview, and some of my clients that do a lot of lectures and conferences want to highlight things, and they tell me, 'We need to find where he said our product is the greatest in the world.' You can now just search 'our product is the greatest in the world,' and it'll just take you to that spot, right?" The potentially game-changing update to Premiere Pro Crossman described as just over the horizon at NAB 2023 became available in late May: text-based editing, building on the text-to-speech engine added in 2021. Your baby moves around and the app needs to have the baby’s heart be close to the microphone to work well. Try a number of times and at different times of day. It’s the conduction of sound through your amniotic fluid that makes all this possible. Try turning the phone at an angle, as the screen doesn't have to face the floor or your face. But do make sure the microphone is always making full contact. It is important to persevere and not be disheartened if it proves difficult the first few times. Sometime the baby is just not in the right position and you may need to wait a few hours for them to move. You also need to get as close as possible to your baby’s back, just like a doctor would. There is some clever frequency filtering and signal processing going on to focus in on baby sounds, but the more quiet and relaxed you are the better.
